The overall goal for this project was to convey a scene of decay and mystery through its textures. The light spilling in along with the dark shadows adds a nice sense of drama that I think the viewer will appreciate. All compositing was done in Photoshop CS4 and the render with mental ray in 3dsMax 2010.

This was a side-project of mine that started out in Sketchbook Pro 2010 and I took to completion in Photoshop CS4. There wasn’t anything in particular that was used for reference or inspiration–just a spur of the moment kind of thing. Enjoy!

This was created for a school project that was intended to get us a little more familiar with the structure of the face and the various textural qualities they all hold. It was a really fun project and I’m pretty pleased with what I was able to accomplish with the time I put into it–which was around something like 40 hours I believe (give or take a few because of the several revisions). I definitely learned that sometimes throwing away things and starting over can lead to much better results. The whole process was carried out in Photoshop CS4.

This is the marketing poster/game case cover that graced the box of my second team game project. I utilized 3dsMax 2009 for the character busts and thing in the middle (the phlogisticator). I then composited it all in Photoshop CS4. Additional information regarding my responsibilities and what I accomplished as art lead on the project can be found within my resume.

This is a marketing poster I created in Photoshop CS4 for a 2D project I was brought onto partway through its development. It was a fun project to be a part of. I was mainly responsible for getting the enemy animations completed and any other art tasks that needed to get done. The game was awarded “Most Immersive” by the Guildhall. Additional details about the project can be found within my resume.

These concepts were created for my first 2D game project (all done within Photoshop CS4). The game called for something reminiscent of ancient Japanese screen paintings, but with characters that resembled ink blots. It was definitely an ambitious project from the get go, but I’m glad to have been a part of something that grabbed the attention of people so easily–merely for its look. I’m really happy with what I was able to come up with. Additional details regarding the project can be found within my resume.

These are a few of the animation sheets I created for the Haiku project I was on. This was the final boss “Heljian” that the player was confronted with by the end of the game. All done within Photoshop CS4.
